How It Works

Spot the Play: You get a Q-rack and 3 word options. Only one is a real Q-without-U word — pick it.

Hold or Play: Given tiles left in bag and U-count, decide whether to play Q now or hold for a QU word later.

Learn all 22 Q-without-U words with definitions, point values, and Q-position awareness.

Master the "essential eight" first: QI, QADI, QAT, QOPH, QAID, QINTAR, QWERTY, QANAT.

Early game (30+ tiles left): Hold Q. Odds favor drawing a U. Only play Q-without-U if scoring 35+.
Late game (10 or fewer tiles left): Play Q immediately. Even 11 points (QI) beats getting stuck with -10.
Track the U's. There are 4 U's total. If 3-4 are played, dump Q now regardless of game phase.
The essential eight: QI, QIS, QAT, QADI, QAID, QOPH, WAQF, TRANQ handle 90% of situations.
Q math: Q played = +10 minimum. Q unplayed = -20 swing (you lose 10, opponent gains 10).
